Wisconsin Herd (6-2) split two games, James Young scores 41, Munford set to return, GPII starts for Bucks, and more

The Wisconsin Herd (6-2) split two games last week versus the Delaware 87ers (W, 119-111) and Lakeland Magic (L, 109-104) and move to second-place in the Central Division. Wisconsin Herd (5-1) defend home turf, move into first-place

The Wisconsin Herd (5-1) extended their winning streak to three straight, claiming their first two games in the state of Wisconsin after four straight road games and moving into first place in the Central Division. James Young (29 points) led the way as the Herd defeated the Windy City Bulls, 100-92, on Friday. For an encore, Young (40 points) recorded the first 40-point game in Herd history in a 132-125 victory over the Maine Red Claws on Saturday. In their first season of existence, the high-scoring Herd have quickly established themselves as one of the must-watch teams in the NBA G League. The current roster boasts five players averaging 20+ points per game: James Young (26.8 ppg, 4 games played), Sterling Brown (25.5 ppg, 2 gp), Xavier Munford (25.0 ppg, 4 gp), Joel Bolomboy (21.0 ppg, 1 gp), and Gary Payton II (20.0 ppg, 2 gp). Munford buzzer-beater highlights historic week for Wisconsin Herd

In their first season of existence the Wisconsin Herd have exploded out of the gate, surging to a 3-1 record. After making their franchise debut on Monday November 6, the Herd got their feet wet by playing 4 games in 6 nights (all on the road, mind you), winning 3 of them. Their first game was won in memorable and dramatic fashion, with a Xavier Munford buzzer-beater capping a huge comeback from 20 points down. Following that season-opening 115-113 win over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Herd defeated the Salt Lake City Stars 103-97 on Wednesday, lost to the Santa Cruz Warriors 111-82 on Friday, and defeated the Reno Bighorns 106-102 on Saturday. The team's offense has been led by a trio of high-scoring guards: Munford (25 points per game), Gary Payton II (20 PPG), and James Young (19 PPG).
